“Brendan was an incredibly engaging and spirited performer with our students! They were simply hooked! Not only was his visit a huge boost in extending students’ background knowledge of key literacy concepts, but also Brendan was an inspiration for our students to write and perform their own poetry! I hope your students get to experience Brendan’s passion, creativity and magic! “ - Jillian Green, Mabin School

Holy Guacamole, it’s a Poetry Show! is a kinetic feast of words and song for students K-7. Written by former Canadian SLAM champ and award-winning musician Brendan McLeod, it offers students the opportunity to revel in the thrill of word play while grounding the fun with practical lessons about rhythm and figurative language. Featuring a dinosaur rap, songs about planets and pets, hilarious haikus, and poems about everything from climate change to the lettuce in your lunch box, the show delivers content that’s both entertaining for the ears and challenging for the mind. Accompanying himself on banjo, guitar, and ukulele, Brendan brings over fifteen years of school touring experience to his first show geared at primary schools.

“A great presentation! The much-sought-after "teaching trifecta": super engaging, entertaining and educational. “ - Jen Mactaggart, Sunnybrook School
