July-August Happenings!
Hey y’all,
Long time, no keeping in touch. Boo! I suck. But there’s a lot going on. I’m just bad at keeping in posting it. But! Here’s what is happening/has been happening:
1) My new live album ‘Little Troubles, Live’ is being released at the end of the month. It’s is a mix of songs, poems, stories, and awesome bits of energetic banter, all performed in Vancouver. I love everything about it – the crowd, the design, the story about Craigslist! I am so very excited to release it into the world. So please come out to the Anza Club on August 26 at 9:00pm! There will also be very special guests for a very special night! The press release will be up soon.
2) I am part of a new collaboration with storyteller Ivan E Coyote, singer/songwriter Dan Mangan, and comedian Damond Schritter. We are called ‘The Gist’ and we will be launching our first show ‘A Train of Thought’ on September 16 at the Anza Club. These people are all heroes of mine. Seriously. It’s going to rule!
3) All things ‘Fugitives’: We are playing our last folk festival of the summer in Komasket this weekend. Very excited! Thanks to everyone in all the cities and festivals we played over the summer for coming out. We have a brand new EP we just got back from the printers. It will be available in October, followed by a X-Canada tour, so stay tuned! Dates are being posted extremely soon…
4) I’m an upcoming artist in residence at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre! Yeah! From January-March I will be curating/performing/be involved in one show per month. Plans include a solo show with visuals, the premiere of my first play, and an extravagant bonanza of bands in March. Man, I’m psyched!
Thanks everyone – check the journal page for extra thoughts…
